Argolida is located east of the Peloponnese with a population of 105.000 inhabitants. The town of Nafplio is the capital of the prefecture, which is characterized by the twin bays, important ancient sites and several beaches.

Nafplion was the first capital of Greece in the 19th century and is certainly one of the most beautiful cities. You can visit the fortress of Palamidi, the Bourges fortress on the island of St. Theodore, the Syntagma Square with the historic buildings surrounding, like the old parliament, the palace, museum, etc. Also the walls of Kale and stroll at the picturesque old town of Nafplion.

In the prefecture of Argolida visit the ancient Mycenae, the ancient theater and archaeological site of Epidaurus with Asklepion's ancient theater, temple and other monuments. In the city of Argos you can see the beautiful neoclassical buildings, the archaeological site of Assini, the city of Tiryns and the ancient city of Midea with the citadel.

In Messinia you can have a spa, water sports, cycling tours, hiking, golf and also the entertainment and nightlife of the city.

The average temperature in Argolida range from 8 degrees Celsius (46F) in January to 27 degrees (81F) during July and August. Tourism runs primarily from May through October with peak months in July and August.
