Western Macedonia includes the prefectures of Grevena, Kastoria, Kozani and Florina. Offers a variety of archaeological monuments, museums, monasteries etc.

In Grevena, visit Vasilitsa village to see the forest, the peaks and the ski center. You can also enjoy unique walks and sports in the river of Kozani.

In Kastoria, you can visit the capital of Kastoria, the lake, the streets, mansions, Byzantine walls and churches. Also see the petrified forest of Nostimo and enjoy walks in the forests and rivers of Grammos.

Florina has the capital city of Florina, with traditional buildings, a zoo, Archaeological and Byzantine Museum as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art. Also see the beautiful lakes Prespa with the variety of plants and animals that live in the area. Finally visit the picturesque village Nymphaeum and the lakeside town of traditional Amindeo.

The average temperatures in Western Macedonia range from 2 degrees Celsius (36F) in January to 24 degrees (75F) during July and August. Winter tourism runs mainly from October to March.

In the area you can arrive by plane at airports Kastoria, Kozani or via Athens or Thessaloniki airport and then drive.
